Wednesday: Writing World

Working on: sci-fi novella
Last Kindle download: Whispers in the Dark by Maya Banks

I’m in first draft mode at the moment, working on a sci-fi novella. It’s very nice to be working on something different…although I think writing paranormal and sci-fi is very similar in terms of world-building.

I LOVE science fiction – I’m a Star Trek, Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica fan. And every now and then I pick up a sci-fi romance to read. I’ve always had some sci-fi romance story ideas drifting around in my head and finally thought I’d tackle one.

I also read an interesting blog post this week at Dear Author on 2012 Publishing Predictions. I agreed with everything on digital pricing and found the prediction on self-publishing very interesting. I think 2012 will be an interesting year for publishing.

It is indeed an interesting time to be in publishing, Anna.

Good luck with the sci-fi novella. It's something on my list to do in the next few years.

Thanks! I bet you'd do a fab job with a sci-fi story. Thankfully I've gotten over the first few chapters (always takes me the longest as I get to know my characters) and now I'm rolling. Poor characters are going through hell though (-:
